MILFORD - Dallas Winchester, utilities superintendent at Milford, has been hospitalized and is in grave condition.
Town Clerk Charlotte Sigfried said Winchester fell ill while working at home Saturday, suffering from an extreme headache and loss of sight.
Sigfried said Winchester was rushed to Goshen General Hospital where he was diagnosed as suffering from an aggressive form of cancerous brain tumor.
The tumor is inoperable, she said, and cancer also was found in his internal organs.
Winchester suffered from melanoma approximately two years ago, but was found to be cancer free after treatment.
Sigfried said an emergency executive session of the Milford Town Council will be held following the council's regular meeting tonight. The council will discuss action to be taken regarding Winchester's position with the town.
Winchester also serves on the Wawasee School Board.
