MILFORD - The Milford Town Council opened bids for the Main Street storm sewer project Wednesday morning.
The bids were divided into two sections - the base bid covers North Main Street and the alternative bid covers South Main Street.
Beer & Slabaugh Inc., Nappanee, gave bids of $248,135.71 and $150,638.40 for the base and alternative bids, respectively. The total bid was $398,774.11.
Phend & Brown Inc., Milford, gave bids of $193,538.20 and $121,427, respectively. The total bid for the project was $314,965.20.
The project will entail removing the waste water from the sewer lines, which are currently overtaxing the treatment plant.
The council needs to grant the bid by the end of August, or within 45 days.
