Milford Police Officer Timothy Miller, 40, of Warsaw, remains in serious but stable condition today at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, after being struck by a pickup at approximately 8:39 p.m. Friday.

According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department press release, Miller was conducting a traffic stop with another vehicle when he was struck by a red Dodge pickup driven by Angel Rosendo, 20, of 8280 E. U.S. 30, Lot 103, Pierceton. The incident occurred at the corner of Higbee Street (Ind. 15) and First Street in Milford.

Miller was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital by both the Milford EMS and the Multi-Township paramedic unit. He was later transported to Lutheran Hospital.

Miller is also a police officer for the Winona Lake Police Department.

Rosendo's vehicle was later found in a ditch south of Milford by a Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department deputy. Rosendo allegedly admitted being the driver of the vehicle, according to a KCSD report.

Witnesses at the scene where Rosendo's truck was found said they saw only one subject in the truck and that the male driver was flashing his headlights on and off in an attempt to get some help, according to the report. The witnesses also said the driver appeared to be drunk. Rosendo later admitted to drinking Friday, according to the report.

Rosendo was charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. Bond was set at $500. Due to Rosendo's age, the report said, he may be charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Milford Fire/EMS.

The accident remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.
