Milford Man Hurt During Robbery

Posted

A Milford man suffered fractured ribs and other injuries as a result of an armed robbery Saturday by two men in a pickup truck.

Antonio Vuittonet Jr., of South Groves Street in Milford, was treated and released at Kosciusko Community Hospital after the men robbed him, then pushed him out of the truck and kicked him in the face and sides.

According to reports by the the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Vuittonet described the men as white males in their mid-30s. One had a reddish beard and wore white tennis shoes; the other had reddish or brown hair and wore a dark baseball cap. They were reportedly driving a "loud" Chevy four-wheel-drive pickup that was dark blue or black.

Vuittonet told the KCSD he was using the pay phone at the Pantry Plus in Nappanee at approximately 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The men approached him and asked him if he needed a ride. Since he lived in Milford and they were going to Syracuse, they said they would drop him off at the intersection of Ind. 6 and Ind. 15.

Instead, he told police, the men took him through country roads to CR 200W, where they stopped the truck and pulled a knife on him. He reportedly struggled and fought back, causing lacerations on his right forearm.

Vuittonet said the men stole his wedding ring, wallet and watch; the approximate value of the items is $3,000.

KCSD reports said the suspects are still at large.
