A Milford man was arrested Wednesday morning on charges of arson and criminal mischief after allegedly setting fire to a man’s gasoline fill spout in June.
Ociel Vallejo, 26, of 12656 N. CR 250E, Milford, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 6 a.m. Wednesday with a $2,000 bond.
According to an affidavit filed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, North Webster police responded to a report of arson June 16 at Stimmelators Gentleman’s Club, 114 E. Washington St., North Webster. Officers spoke with a club employee who advised he had requested two individuals to leave the establishment for “bad behavior.” The employee stated that a few minutes after he requested the two individuals leave the property, he observed his vehicle on fire at the gasoline fill spout.
When the employee approached his car, he stated there was a sock stuffed into the gasoline fill spout and the sock was on fire. He told police he pulled the sock out and the fill spout was still on fire, so he retrieved water and doused the flames.
The employee further stated he believed the two individuals he had asked to leave the establishment were responsible for the damage to his vehicle and described a younger male and an older male to officers. He later showed police surveillance footage from the club.
According to the affidavit, the video showed two male subjects inside Stimmelators, then leaving the club. At 8:51 p.m. that night, the video shows a younger male suspect walk up to the employee’s vehicle and stand next to the fill spout for a short time. A pickup truck then arrived and the younger male subject got into the passenger side of the vehicle and left.
The employee later identified the younger suspect as Vallejo on Facebook as well as in a police photograph lineup.
