Miles C. Spooner, 51, of 877 N. Zimmer Road, Warsaw, died at 6:31 p.m. Sept. 16, 2008, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born July 20, 1957, in Louisville, Ky., to Miles L. and Margaret Ruth Brown Spooner. On Oct. 14, 1986, in Louisville, he married Linda Smith, who survives.
Living in Warsaw since 2000, he's formerly of Charlestown and Jeffersonville. He was a hoist driver in the shipping department at R.R. Donnelley & Sons. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw; Knights of Columbus, Jeffersonville; and Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, Jeffersonville and Charlestown. He served in the U.S. Army from 1975-77.
Also surviving are a daughter, Corteny Spooner, Warsaw; three sons, Corry Spooner and Griffin Tucker, both of Warsaw, and Gabe Tucker, Jeffersonville; a sister, Brenda Mills, Charlestown; a brother, Robert Price, Jeffersonville; and three grandchildren, Peyton, Dortha and Braden Tucker. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military rites by members of American Legion Post 49 and VFW 1126.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
