Mildred 'Millie' Evelyn Penn Ellison

PIERCETON – Mildred “Millie” Evelyn Penn Ellison, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 12:50 p.m. June 26, 2012, at Kosciusko Community Hospital.

She was born Nov. 25, 1922, in Huntington County, to Charles and Mary Emerick Penn. On Feb. 16, 1945, she married Richard Ellison, Huntington, who survives in Pierceton.

She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County since 1950, residing in the Warsaw area.

She graduated in 1941 from Clear Creek High School in Huntington. She was a homemaker and owned a farm with her husband since 1950. She was a member of the Monroe Happy Homemakers and the Farm Bureau. She so enjoyed animals, Beanie Babies, bingo and bus trips.

Also surviving are four daughters: Mary Lou Cotton, Syracuse; Dorothy Rutledge (and companion Steve King), Claypool; Betty (and spouse Dan) Ormsby, Columbia City; and Linda Lambert, Warsaw; two sons, James (and spouse Karen) Ellison, Warsaw, and Donald (and spouse Kelly) Ellison, rural Pierceton; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, with one great-grandson on the way; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents and a brother, Lester Penn.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, with Pastor Dennis L. Bollenbacher officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel in Pierceton.
