Mildred Louise Eckert, 97, Atwood and Fort Wayne, died at 7:50 a.m. March 1, 2014, in Betz Nursing Home, Auburn. She was born Feb. 18, 1917, in Kosciusko County, to Otis and Mary Cartwright Albertson. On April 19, 1935, she married Edward T. Eckert, who died May 27, 1995. She was a 1935 graduate of Atwood High School. She spent most of her life in Atwood and Fort Wayne, and was a homemaker. She attended New Beginnings Church, Atwood. Surviving are a son, Larry L. Eckert, Auburn; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Ron and Dennis Eckert. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Harrison Center Cemetery, with Pastor Dennis Bollenbacher, New Beginnings Church, officiating.
