Mildred I. “Millie” Neer, 99, Lake Placid, Fla., passed away Nov. 12, 2014, at the Lake Placid Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born June 20, 1915, in Kosciusko County, to Viola Fay Fawley and William A. Schooley. On May 10, 1957, she married Fred “Porky” Neer, who survives in Lake Placid. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, Lake Placid, and a past president of American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed entertaining her friends, playing a good game of cards and loved spending time with both her friends and family. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Grubbs and Bonnie Cleveland, both of Lake Placid; a son, Norman (and spouse Brenda) Grubbs, Lake Placid; a stepdaughter, Carol Bidic, Warsaw; a stepson, Danny Neer, Warsaw; a daughter-in-law, Jane Grubbs, Warsaw; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 34 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Barbara Hyde; three sons: Ronnie, Billy and Don Grubbs; and two sisters, Clara Parker and Fern Reichard. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw. Burial will be in Harrison Center Cemetery, Etna Green.
