Local USASF-member gym Midwest Extreme is adding a special needs team to its lineup. Team SunShine is for children with special needs, 5 years old and up, who love to cheer, dance and perform at all levels of functioning. Midwest Xtreme All Star Cheer offers friends, fun, music, dancing, cheering and the opportunity to perform in front of enthusiastic crowds and increasing the students’ courage and confidence. The routine is tailored to the abilities of each individual child so that all children can participate to the full extent of their abilities. Midwest Xtreme will host a parent meeting Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. for parents who are interested in having their special-needs child join Team SunShine. During the meeting, the coaching staff will be introduced and the program will be explained.
