FORT WAYNE – Michael S. Hackworth, 65, died Nov. 18, 2012, in Fort Wayne. He was born in Warsaw to Ballard J. and Luclle Hackworth. He graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He was the liaison between the engineering and production staff in the specialty transformer department at General Electric for 33 years. Surviving are his sons, Phil Hackworth and Eric (and spouse Jill) Hackworth, both of Fort Wayne, IN; his former wife, Cheryl L. Ferverda, Fort Wayne; a sister, Jennifer Lucht, Warsaw; and a granddaughter. A private service will be at a later date. Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at D.O.
