NAPPANEE - Michael D. Overfelt, 51, of 13876 N. CR 400N, Milford, died at 11:29 a.m. March 26, 2011, in Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital.
He was born April 5, 1959, in Crawfordsville, to Augustine George Jr. and Peggy Peace Overfelt. On July 23, 1988, in Nappanee, he married Jill Silvers, who survives.
He moved to this area 35 years ago and was a 1979 Wawasee High School graduate. He worked at Fairmont Homes for 15 years, Hart Housing, Wakarusa, for seven years and was a Goshen News carrier serving Nappanee and Wakarusa for the last five years.
Also surviving are two sons, Brent (and spouse Jamie) Stouder, Nappanee, and Bart (and spouse Jackie) Stouder, Milford; seven grandchildren; his father and stepmother, Augustine George and Pat Overfelt, Granite City, Ill.; three sisters, Debbie Smith and Marcia (and spouse Marty) Nading, all of Indianapolis, and Darla (and spouse Odell) Frasure, Milford; and a brother, Dan (and spouse Kathy) Overfelt, Waynetown. He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at South Union Cemetery, Nappanee, with the Rev. Janet McFall-Brown officiating.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
