FORT WAYNE – Michael Corkwell, 57, of Syracuse, passed away Oct. 13, 2011, in his residence.

He was born in Fort Wayne, to Charles E. I and Mary Corkwell. His wife of 37 years, Anita Corkwell, survives.

He worked in the aerospace industry for more than 34 years and currently was with BAE Systems. He had also been a WSO at the Indiana Air National Guard. He loved spending time with his family and grandson and enjoyed hockey, fishing, traveling and playing his guitar.

Also surviving are his mother, Mary Corkwell, Fort Wayne; a daughter, Margaret (and spouse Anthony) Gadson, Warsaw; a son, Aaron (and spouse Callaleigh) Corkwell, Fort Wayne; a grandson, Silas Ryder  Corkwell; three brothers: Charles E. Corkwell II, Indianapolis; Bryan (and spouse Zina) Corkwell, Columbia City; and Bill Corkwell, Fort Wayne; a sister, Karen (and spouse Mike) Warren, Fort Wayne; and his dogs, Cooper and Zoe. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Corkwell I.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery.
