Meth Labs Land 2 In Jail

Kosciusko County officers arrested two men Friday afternoon after deputies located six meth labs in a vacant home.

Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department Lt. Chris McKeand responded to a call at 969 S. CR 400W Friday at 2:11 p.m. after a concerned citizen called 911. The caller noticed two male subjects arrive at the vacant residence on a mo-ped.

As McKeand approached the garage area, he immediately noticed the odor associated with the production of methamphetamine and located the two male subjects.

Both subjects began to flee but McKeand was able to detain and take into custody Eric W. Heiman, 28, Warsaw.

Arriving officers established a perimeter as Indiana State Police Trooper Ryan McNamara and his canine unit was able to flush the second suspect from a tree line area.

Kosciusko County Drug Task Force officers arrested the second suspect, Gabriel Raymond Fields, 27, of 2301 E. Fort Wayne St., Warsaw, and preliminary charged him with felony manufacturing and possession of methamphetamine.

Heiman was preliminary charged with felony manufacturing and dealing methamphetamine.Drug Task Force officers located six meth labs and immediately summoned the Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team.

Heiman and Fields are both currently being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on $100,000 bonds.
