A Claypool man was arrested for possession of meth and paraphernalia at an area gas station. Arthur Crit Martin, 32, of 5381 W. Turner Road, Claypool, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 9:12 p.m. Nov. 16 and faces charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a syringe, both Level 6 felonies; and one charge of possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor. According to the probable cause affidavit filed Monday in Kosciusko Circuit Court, on Nov. 16, Warsaw police were dispatched to Good-to-Go gas station on South Buffalo Street in reference to a stolen vehicle at that location. During the course of that investigation, police made contact with Martin who, according to court papers, was “touching some items on the sidewalk and then put his hands in his pockets.” When police asked Martin to keep his hands out of his pockets, they searched him and found a syringe was located in his right front pocket. There was no needle attached to the syringe, but it did test positive for methamphetamine, police reports state. Martin told police the digital scales with a crystal-like residue and a small clear plastic bag on the ground were his. They tested positive for methamphetamine. His bond was set at $5,250.
