My name is Tara Miller. I am currently incarcerated with the Indiana Department of Corrections at Rockville Correctional Facility. I am writing to voice my opinion on the pseudoephedrine laws. Like so many others, I am incarcerated on a meth charge. I am 26 years old and this is my first time in any serious trouble. I am not a bad person; I've just made some bad decisions. Having pseudoephedrine available by prescription only will benefit our communities.
I know people will try to find a way around the new law if it is passed, but I believe it will deter enough people from manufacturing because it will be even more of a hassle.
Perhaps one person isn't seriously injured because of this law; perhaps one child does not have to grow up in a cook house. This law will benefit more people than it will hinder and that alone will make it a success.
I am currently a recovering meth addict. I'm in the CLIFF program and every day I work on healing the damage and pain this horrible drug has caused in my life.
Please pass the new pseudoephedrine law not only for me but for the next generation, for our children's children, for our future.
Let's make this meth epidemic the end of the meth era.
