Our beloved Mesude Mudd passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at the age of 73.
Mesude was born on Nov. 8, 1945, in Greece, the daughter of Mahmut and Memduha Senguler. She was raised in Izmir, Turkey, where she met the love of her life while he was serving in the U.S. Army. Mesude told the story of the day she first laid eyes on Terry, she told her friend, "I'm going to marry that man." And as fate would have it, their love created a union and the two married on May 9, 1970, in Izmir, Turkey. Together, they returned to Indiana and raised three daughters.
Mesude was the backbone of her family, a dedicated wife and mother, who worked hard to provide, teach, guide and love her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and using traditional methods she grew up with and teaching others how to do it. She was a pro at keeping an immaculate house, she enjoyed traveling to Turkey and taking family and friends along and did not hesitate to let you know how much she loved you. She will be remembered for being exceedingly kind, genuinely caring and generously loving.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 49 years, Terry D. Mudd, Warsaw, Ind.; daughters: Stefanie Mudd, of Orlando, Fla.; Jenifer (Odell Jr.) Chamberlain, and Kizzy (Will) McGhee, all of Anderson, Ind.; grandchildren, Kierra Yasemin Davis and Ariahna Meliz Hudson, both of Anderson, Ind.; sisters: Meral (M. Alper) Eroglu of Nicosia, Cyprus, and Nermin (Ekrem) Çayir of Izmir, Turkey; brothers-in-law, Charles (Lydia) Mudd, Ronald (Marti) Mudd, both of Warsaw; sisters-in-law: Donna Sansbury, Tina McNeal and Jo Ellen Crisp; a special aunt, Mary Sansbury of Michigan; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Mesude was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mustafa Senguler; and parents-in-law, Edward and Rose Mudd.
Private services were held with family and close friends on Monday, June 24 at The Meeks Mortuary, with graveside services conducted by the Islamic Center of Muncie at Jones Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to their family and friends for all their love and support.
