BREMEN — Merlie Treva Sechrist, 95, Bremen, left her earthly home on Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, to be with her husband, John, who preceded her in death.
Merlie was born March 10, 1922, the daughter of John and Luella Culp Wise. She was married June 21, 1977, in Bremen Missionary Church, and John passed away Dec. 13, 2003.
She left to cherish her memory four children: Linda Garey, Leesburg; Butch (Linda) Kling, Bremen; Terry (Angela) Kling, Elkhart; and Judy Lawson, Elkhart; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, three brothers and son-in-law Jerry Garey.
Merlie worked for Bremen Bearings for many years before her retirement. She attended Nappanee Church of the Brethren when she was able to. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting and sewing.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Sept. 14, in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 Ind. 331, Bremen.
Funeral services will follow at noon in the funeral home, with burial in Stony Point Cemetery, Leesburg.
