Mentone OKs Treatment Payment

Posted
MENTONE - The Mentone Town Council approved making its first payment as the town works on upgrading its sewer treatment plant.

The first payment is $139,640 and the upgrades to the plant are expected to be completed sometime in the spring.

Town Marshal Jim Eads asked for permission to trade in all town officers' Glock handguns. After trade-in, the cost for the town for all new handguns is $1,113.

The board voted unanimously to allow the purchase of new handguns.

Utilities Superintendent Eric Carlin reminded the council that Nov. 24 is the target date to end leaf pick-up. After that, all leaves must be bagged.

It also was discussed putting that information at the coffee shop in town or post office so everyone knew.

The Monday meeting was brief due to the fact that the community building where the meeting is held needed to be set up as a polling place today.

Members of the Mentone Town Council are president Tim Croy, Jill Gross and Jack Simpson.
