MENTONE – A Mentone man was arrested Wednesday evening by the Mentone Police Department and Indiana State Police at his residence for child molesting.
David Edward Anderson, 65, of 301 N. Morgan St., Mentone, was preliminarily arrested for two Class A child molestation felonies involving children under the age of 14.
MPD received information about Anderson after assisting the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation with a presentation to all of the students from K-12. The presentation was held in January called “Body Safety.” The “Body Safety” presentation was given by a guest speaker to help educate the students in how to report inappropriate touching or being a victim of sexual misconduct. MPD and the Department of Child Services assisted with the presentation.
The presentation led the agencies to the allegations made against Anderson. The allegations against Anderson took place from 2009 through 2011 at his residence in Mentone.
In 1982, Anderson was charged with incest and engaging in deviate sexual conduct.
Anderson is currently being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
