MENTONE - No one from the public attended the public hearing for the Mentone 2011 budget Monday night.
The town council will adopt the budget at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 4. The meeting will be held at the Mentone Community Emergency Services Building, 201 W. Main St.
At the July 6 budget workshop, budgets were set as: General Fund, $432,577; Motor Vehicle Highway, $37,650; Local Roads & Streets, $13,000; Cemetery, $3,700; Cumulative Capital Improvement, $6,000; County Economic Development Income Tax, $72,000; and Cumulative Capital Development, Riverboat and Rainy Day funds all set at zero. A 2 percent pay raise for all employees also was approved.
The September regular town council meeting will be Sept. 7 instead of Sept. 6, the first Monday of the month, because of Labor Day.
Members of the town council present Monday were Tim Croy and Jill Gross. Councilman Jack Simpson was absent.
