MENTONE - There were a few tense moments for firefighters at the scene of an early Thursday morning fire in Mentone.
The problem wasn't because of the fire, though. A sagging power line near the 506 W. Main St. residence was snagged and snapped by a passing semi tractor/trailer, leaving the live wire draped across the fire truck. Two Mentone Fire Department firefighters were trapped inside the truck until the power to the line was shut off.
The fire at the Linda Kane residence caused minimal damage and is believed to have started as a result of an electrical problem.
Firefighters were on the scene of the 4:47 a.m. fire for about 1-1/2 hours.
