MENTONE – Mentone Elementary will host Kindergarten Round-Up March 23 at 6 p.m. Families will start the evening in the large group instruction room with a short information meeting, where they will learn about what to expect in kindergarten. Kindergarten teachers also will share about kindergarten readiness and the requirements for children attending kindergarten during the 2015-16 school year. The school nurse will share about medical information that needs to be completed before the students start school. A pizza dinner will be served following the informational meeting. Office staff also will be assisting parents with online registration in the computer lab. Children that are 5 years old on or before Aug. 1 are eligible to attend kindergarten. This early registration is critical in the planning for next year’s kindergarten program, according to the press release provided by the school. Child care will be provided for the meeting. Families should bring their child’s birth certificate and immunization records with them. If you can not attend, contact Mentone Elementary School at 574-353-7465 prior to registration in August. Parents unable to attend March 23, may still come in during the day from March 24 to March 27 and sign up their child. Office hours to sign up for kindergarten will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
