Mentone Conducts Fall Business

MENTONE - Leaf pickup, park rental and a library board appointment were among the topics of discussion at Monday's Mentone Town Council meeting.

Any resident who still has leaves to be picked up should bag the leaves and place them at the curb.

The council asked Matt Cohagen of the park board to present a proposal at the town's end-of-year meeting for deposits for the use of the park pavilions. Reservations are taken and donations can be made, but few people voluntarily pay for the use of the park. The town will consider a fee for this use to help with continued improvements being made.

Appointment of a new member to the Bell Memorial Library board was tabled until the next meeting. Linda Cochran's term expires at the end of the year and the town appoints one member to the board. The council will look into its choice for a new member.

The end-of-year meeting was tentatively set for 7 p.m. Dec. 26. The next regular meeting is at 7 p.m. Jan. 7. Both meetings will be in the town hall.

Members of the Mentone Town Council are Ed Rock, who was absent; Ed Lamar; and Mike Diemer.
