MENTONE – Mentone Elementary will host Kindergarten Round-Up Monday at 6 p.m. Families will start the evening with a pizza meal served in the cafeteria. There also will be a free gift for all who attend. After the dinner, a parent meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. about the requirements for children attending kindergarten during the 2014-15 school year. Children who are 5 years old on or before Aug. 1 are elibible to attend kindergarten. Parents will learn about kindergarten readiness and receive a kindergarten packet filled with information and paperwork that needs to be turned in before their student begins kindergarten. This early registration is critical in the planning for next year’s kindergarten program. Child care will be provided for this meeting. If you can not attend, contact Mentone Elementary School prior to registration in August. Bring birth certificate and immunization records with you. If you are unable to attend Monday, parents may still come in during the day Tuesday through March 14 and sign up their child. Office hours to sign up for kindergarten will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
