Two bus drivers reported the assault of a mentally challenged woman Thursday afternoon.
Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department deputy Mike Mulligan responded to a call at a trailer park in Warsaw Thursday afternoon. Two Warsaw Community School bus drivers reported to Mulligan that they had dropped off a mentally challenged student. One bus driver honked the horn so the child's mother could come out and get the child.
One bus driver stated, in a police report, that a "rough-looking male" came out of the trailer and stood by a blue pickup and waited.
The bus driver honked the horn again, and another male subject walked out of the trailer. Both men left in a blue truck with chicken wire cage over the truck bed.
The bus drivers waited until the men left and let the child off the bus around 3:15 p.m.
The bus dropped off another child in Leesburg and returned when one of the bus drivers "had a bad feeling."
When they returned, they approached the mother, also mentally challenged, who said she was assaulted by one of the men, who she identified as "Jimmy."
The mother told the bus driver the man groped and attempted to unbutton her pants.
The mother stated she didn't know the other man, but that he did tell "Jimmy" to stop the assault.
Both men left the residence when they heard the school bus horn.
The incident is under investigation by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.
