Memorial Day Lineup

Warsaw- Warsaw American Legion Post 49 will have a Memorial Day program Monday at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery. Patriotic music will be played and Craig Uffman will be the guest speaker.

The program will include a 21-gun salute. An indoor picnic will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Post 49, 301 N. Buffalo St.

VFW Post 1126 and American Legion Post 49 honor guards and the legion's auxilliary will place wreaths on Legion Circle one and two at Oakwood Cemetery.Leesburg- The Leesburg Community Memorial Day Parade is at 10:30 a.m. Monday. All veterans, children, businesses, and organizations are invited to participate.

Milford - A festival will be Saturday in the town with a cutie contest, car show, food vendors, and carnival rides.

A parade will be at 10 a.m. Monday with parade lineup at 9 a.m. The parade will begin on Emeline Street and will continue to Main Street. A ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Milford Cemetery.

Nappanee - A Memorial Day Parade will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. leaving from the Nappanee Elementary School parking lot.

Lineup will begin at 10 a.m. The parade will go west on Centennial Street to Main Street, south on Main Street to Lincoln Street, then west on Lincoln Street to Nappanee City Hall. A Memorial Day service will be at 11 a.m. Monday with featured speaker Steve Hunsberger, Wakarusa.

North Webster- North Webster Post 253 will have a Memorial Day service Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Thorn Cemetery. A parade starts at 10:45 a.m. at Ind. 13N and will end at North Webster Cemetery where a ceremony will be at 11 a.m. A flag raising ceremony will be at noon at the North Webster Post.

Pierceton- A parade starts at 11 a.m. Monday in downtown Pierceton with a ceremony Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Brower Park.

Silver Lake- A Veteran's Ceremony will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake, sponsored by the Silver Lake Lions Club.

Syracuse- Syracuse Post 223 will have a parade that begins at 1:30 p.m. Monday starting at Syracuse Elementary and continuing to Boston Street, Huntington Street, and ends at Syracuse Cemetery, Mill Street, where a ceremony will be.

Parade awards will be distributed and Cassie Cowan, ladies auxilliary member and Syracuse town board member, will speak. Chaplain Jerry Winegardner will perform an opening and closing prayer at the ceremony. Names of deceased veterans will be read and a 21-gun salute and taps will be played at the Syracuse American Legion.
