There are several Memorial Day events in the area on May 31 or the weekend before.
These events include:
Etna Green
Etna Green Memorial Day services will be at noon May 30 at the East Cemetery in Etna Green. Roll call for veterans will be performed.

Leesburg
Leesburg will be having a Memorial Day parade and service at 10:30 a.m. May 31.
There will be a flag-raising ceremony by the Boy Scouts before the parade at Town Hall. The parade will proceed from Town Hall south on Pearl Street then west on Prairie Street to the Leesburg Cemetery. The memorial service will follow the parade.
All veterans wishing to ride in the parade should be at Town Hall by 10:15 a.m. All other participants should be in place by 10:15 a.m.
In case of rain, the memorial service will be inside the Leesburg Lions Building at 10:30 a.m.
Mentone
There will be a Memorial Day program at Mentone cemetery at 2 p.m. May 30.
There will be a reception following at the Bell Aircraft Museum, 210 S. Oak St., Mentone.
Milford
There will be a townwide garage sale Thursday, May 27 through Monday, May 31.
The Milford Family Fun Fest is from noon to 8 p.m. May 29.
A Memorial Day parade will be at 10 a.m. starting in downtown Milford, going to the cemetery.
North Manchester
American Legion Post 286 will hold a Memorial Day service at 10 a.m. May 31 at Halderman Park.
Silver Lake
The Silver Lake Lions Club is having a memorial service at Lakeview Cemetery at 11 a.m. May 29.
Syracuse
Chautauqua-Wawasee and Syracuse American Legion Post 223 are collaborating to sponsor "Taps Across the Water" on May 30. The event begins at dusk to honor and mourn military personnel who have died in the performance of their duties while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
They are requesting a moment of silence by everyone in attendance at 9:08 p.m. At 9:09 p.m., Taps will sound by buglers placed on Lake Wawasee, Syracuse Lake and Papkeechie Lake.
Participating musicians include members of the community and surrounding areas, including veterans, community bands, high schools, educators and professionals.
Warsaw
American Legion Post 49 will hold a memorial tribute May 31 at Oakwood Cemetery. Included will be a 21-gun salute.
