Mega Corporations

Editor, Times-Union:

I finally figured out why "walking around Baghdad was like walking in Indiana on a Sunday afternoon" Congressman Mike Pence is so hot on No Fairness Doctrine radio. Finally, I found he is an ex-squeak jock as opposed to a shock jock.

Almost all radio stations today are owned by mega-corporations. Some own hundreds plus TV stations. What the congressman is so concerned about is not about the poor little mom and pop radio stations. He is concerned about the mighty transnational corporations losing a bit of their power to brainwash you everyday to spend and spend, borrow and borrow, and consume consume. He is all for free speech as long as it's his style ideological speech.

Don't get me wrong, it was almost as bad under the politically controlled fairness doctrine from years ago. Only it tended to serve leftist views and conservatives had trouble getting on media. Now that most real conservatives are dead or dying, the corporate neo-con's are in the drivers seat. A true conservative is as rare as a true liberal.

Most of your Republican so-called representatives are joined at the hip with the transnationals along with a growing number of Democrat billionaires.

If you doubt corporate control in both parties, try to find a town hall meeting to really nail them to the wall for the working class. The only meeting I have seen lately for Mark Souder was the closed Fat Cat contributor meeting at the country club. Remember, politicians should be fearing the people, not people fearing the government.

Oh, by the way, I attended the big Dreyfus-Mitch love fest. You better Google® up the history of the French Dreyfus conglomerates before getting to giddy. Dreyfus controls both oil and biodiesel sources and much, much, more. Talk to me after the glow wears off. Mitch boasted how wonderful it was that all these offshore corporations were building plants in the U.S. When I was a kid, that kind of talk would get you run out of town on a U.S.-made rail.
