Medieval BanquetAfter six weeks of studying the Middle Ages, third- and fourth-graders in Janice Torrence's (R) class wrapped up the unit with a Medieval Banquet Friday afternoon. Each student invited up to two people to take part in a meal served as much like as it would have been served hundreds of years ago. Facts about the era were presented, and there also was entertainment. Two girls presented a short hand-puppet play, two students 'jousted,' there was a 'sword fight,' juggling and singing. Pictured (standing, L) is Abby Creekmore offering up some chicken, that diners had to pick off themselves with their hands, as was done during the Medieval Ages. Torrence said the banquet is held every other year.
