Jeremy Meadows, son of Greg and Connie Meadows, Warsaw, participated in the National Leadership Conference of Business Professionals of America, held in Anaheim, Calif., May 5-9.
Jeremy received second place overall in the banking and finance category.
Jeremy, an upcoming senior, has been active in the BPA chapter at Warsaw Community High School.
He was required to take a test on finance and banking, and won the secpnd place over other students in the United States.
He has been active in the district, state, and level contests during the 2009-2010 school year. He won first place at the district level competition in banking and finance, and in human resources which allowed him to move on to the state conference. He won first place in banking and finance at the state level which qualified him to proceed to the national level.Other students from WCHS that participated in the national competition were Matt Reinholt and Sam Richardson. Scott Schram, the local BPA sponsor and a teacher at WCHS, accompanied the students to California.
Approximately 5,500 students from throughout the United States participated in BPA's 44th National Leadership Conference. Activities included general sessions with keynote speakers, business meetings, leadership workshops, contests, election of national officers, and tours of Anaheim sights and attractions! The highlight of the conference was the presentation of the awards to the winners of the national contests.
