During Monday's city council meeting, Warsaw Mayor Ernie Wiggins made several appointments to commissions for 2009.
Wiggins appointed Councilman Dan Hampton to the plan commission and reappointed Charlie Smith and Richard Snodgrass to the redevelopment commission.Joe Thallemer and Smith were appointed to the Board of Public Works and Safety; Kyle Babcock was appointed as a council representative to the Board of Zoning Appeals and Warsaw Housing Authority board; and Thallemer was appointed to the Warsaw Aviation Board.
Other appointments included Dan Hampton as a park board council representative; and Jeff Grose was reappointed as a council representative to the Oakwood Cemetery Board of Regents.
The council tabled a request from Donna J. Prater, 733 N. Lake St., Warsaw, for a low-income reduced monthly sewage rate for further discussion. The council will continue discussion at its Jan. 20 meeting.
In other business, the city council:
n Tabled an ordinance adopting a personnel policy handbook.
n Tabled an ordinance adopting a travel policy for city employees.
n Approved a resolution transferring $132,000 from the general fund to the general bond fund. The transfer is necessary to borrow money to enhance the receiving fund.
