A cell phone seems to be the cause of a two-pickup accident involving Mayor Ernie Wiggins.
At 9:10 a.m. Sunday, Warsaw Police Department responded to a property damage accident at South Buffalo Street, 300 feet north of Prairie Street, Warsaw.
According to the report, Wiggins stated he was driving his 2005 GMC Envoy, registered to the city of Warsaw, when his cell phone rang. As he reached to answer it, his vehicle moved into another lane of traffic and hit a 1992 GMC Z71 pickup, driven by Jerry E. Denny, 67, West CR 700S, Claypool.
Neither Wiggins nor Denny were injured, and the damage is estimated at between $10,000 and $25,000.
