Maxine Ruth Clase, 90, a longtime resident of Warsaw and Fort Myers, Fla., passed away peacefully on March 4, 2007, in Bonita Springs, Fla.

She was born Dec. 10, 1916, in Bloomington, to Albert and Bonnie Alexander, and was a direct descendent of Elder William Brewster of the Mayflower. She married Milo E. Clase, who died in 2003, after 67 years of marriage.

She served as a Warsaw Republican Vice Precinct Committeewoman for more than 30 years. She loved the Florida sunshine and her flowers and was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR, the NBA and Colts football.

A proud homemaker, she raised three children, who survives: Mrs. Bob (Melicent R.) Schrader, Sebring, Fla.; Judge Stephen (and wife Chloe) Clase, Anderson; and Ronald (and wife Kathy) Clase, Bonita Springs; six grandchildren: Tracey Rose, Douglas Blue, Andrew Clase, Angela Connor, Elizabeth King and Ryan Clase; and five great-grandchildren: Austin and Sydney Rose, Travis and Payton Blue and Gaven and Bennett King.

A private burial will be in Bloomington.
