Maxine M. Salverson went home with our Lord Jesus on Jan. 10, 2018. She spent the last three years living at Lake City Place Assisted Living here in Warsaw. The staff loved her loving and kind personality and she loved them.

She was born to Ethel and Floyd Selter on Nov. 18, 1927, in Watervliet, Mich. In February of 1946, she married Charles J. Salverson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Salverson; son, Jackie Eugene; along with her brothers and sisters.

She leaves behind two daughters, Donna (James) Fisher and Nancy (Joseph) Copada; a son, James (Carol) Salverson; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She attended Watervliet High School and worked at the Watervliet Paper Company in her early years, Matt's Corp. and Nylon Extruders. She served most of her life as a homemaker.

She was past president of the Hartford (Mich.) American Legion Auxiliary. She raised her family in Hartford from 1949 to 2004 and attended The Hartford Federated Church. She then lived in Dowagiac, Mich., with her companion, Don Higley, who preceded her in death.

At the request of the deceased, no funeral service will be held. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, where Chaplain Forrest Tabor will conduct the service.

A special thanks to the staff at Heartland Hospice of Fort Wayne for their assistance with our mother, the wonderful care by her nurse, chaplain, social worker and those who assisted with her personal care.

A special thanks to the staff of nurses, aides, activity director, cooks and beautician who blessed my mother these past years at Lake City.
