MILFORD – Max Raymond Anglin, 97, passed away at 3:45 p.m. June 1, 2013, Rosewood Care Center, Northbrook, Ill. He was born May 24, 1916, in Winona Lake, to Raymond and Allie Stackhouse Anglin. His father died when he was 3 years old and his mother remarried George Mosier when he was 12. On June 5, 1936, he married Bernice Dippon, who died March 14, 2005. Living most of his life in Kosciusko County, he moved to Northbrook five years ago to be near his family. He was a well-respected farmer and member of Leesburg Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, Leesburg Methodist Church and Farm Bureau. He lived a very interesting life with varied interests and traveled the world. His sense of humor and smile will be remembered by all who knew him. He devoted his life to family, farming and helping others get a start in life. Surviving are two daughters, Sharon (and spouse John) Gibbs, Lincolnshire, Ill. and Arlene Hoffer, Palatine, Ill.; four grandchildren: Michele (and spouse Joshua) Acosta, Deerfield, Ill.; Michael (and spouse Natasha) Gibbs and Christopher Hoffer (and fiancee Heather Youngberg), all of Chicago, Ill.; and Matthew Hoffer, Denver, Colo.; five great-grandchildren, Joshua E.J., Alexander and Zachary Acosta and Aidan and Cameron Gibbs; a sister, Mary Stookey, Noblesville; a sister-in-law, Hilda Seybert, Fort Wayne; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Harvey (and spouse Mae) Anglin and Leo (and spouse Annabelle) Anglin; a brother-in-law, Emra Stookey; and his wife’s family members, Ray (and spouse Erna) Bray, Richard (and spouse Lila) Cripe, Robert (and spouse Violet) Ramsby, Delbert (and spouse Leona) Dippon and Paul Seybert. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery.
