NORTH WEBSTER - Max L. Scott, 53, North Webster, died at 4:35 p.m. Oct. 22, 2008, in Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne.

He was born June 14,1955, in Kokomo, to Russell Max and Dorrena Rosedale Featherston Scott. On July 31, 1974, in Galveston, he married Rebecca S. Quirk, who survives.

He graduated in 1973 from Lewis Cass High School, Walton. He moved to North Webster in 2003 from Ohio and was the director of Tippecanoe Camp & Retreat Center, North Webster. He has served in the camp ministry for 20 years and formerly served at Indian Creek Camp, Bedford, for 14 of those years. He farmed from 1964 to 1996. He was a member of Oswego Baptist Church, Future Farmers of America and Young Farmers and attended North Webster Church of God.

Also surviving are a daughter, Jessica (and spouse Brian) Taylor, North Webster; two sons, Jeremy Scott, North Webster, and Jason Scott, Jasper; a sister, Nancy Elliott, Lucerne, and a grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at North Webster Church of God, with John McKay and Pastor Jeff Boyer officiating. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery Mock Addition.

Calling is from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the church, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
