WABASH - Max Eugene Fisher, 66, of rural North Manchester, died at 9:53 a.m. May 28, 2009, in his residence.

He was born March 25, 1943, in Peru, to Ross and Maxine Baldwin Fisher. In August 1963, he married Marcia McCain, who survives in Akron. On July 22, 1983, he married Anna Ruth Riddle, who died July 28, 1986. On March 21, 1987, in Wabash, he married Rebecca Bowlby, who died July 25, 2008.

He was a 1962 Wabash high School graduate and a firefighter for the City of Wabash from 1974 until his retirement in 1994. He was named "Wabash Fireman of the Year" in 1981. He owned Car Recyclers, North Manchester, from 1983-2006, and was founder and former co-owner of M&B Body Shop, Wabash. He was a member of Faith Outreach Center, Rochester, since 2004, the church council since 2006, and served as an usher. He was a member of Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship International and Retired Policemen and Firemen's Association.

Surviving are his father and stepmother, Ross and Velma Fisher, North Manchester; four children: Craig S. (and spouse Tammy) Fisher, Silver Lake; Melissa (and spouse Donald) Scott, Claypool; Gretchen (and spouse Chad) O'Banion, Marion; and Denitza J. Fisher, North Manchester; nine grandchildren; a brother, Michael D. (and spouse Sharon) Fisher, Wabash; a sister, Karen (and spouse Danny) Howell, Van Wert, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash, with Pastors Andrew Gathany, Dan Mundt and Chris Howell officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.

Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
