NORTH MANCHESTER – Max E. Coble, 91, formerly of Wabash, died at 3:10 p.m. Jan. 6, 2013, in Fort Wayne. He was born Aug. 29, 1921, in Pleasant Township, to John and Bertha Metzger Coble. On Sept. 22, 1943, he married Mabel M. Hippensteel, who survives. He was a self-employed carpenter and builder. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 15, Wabash. He graduated from South Whitley High School in 1940. He moved to Wabash in 1943. Surviving are a son, Dan R. (and spouse Marlene) Coble, Angola; a daughter, Diane (and spouse Dennis) Airgood, Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a great- grandson and two brothers. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, officiated by David Phillips. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.
