Matilda J. LongPIERCETON – Matilda J. Long, age 95, of Pierceton, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019, at 6:25 p.m. in Paddock Springs Health Campus of Warsaw.
Matilda was born on Sept. 7, 1924, in Kosciusko County, to Dana and Nora Thomas Fawley. She was married to Homer Long on Feb. 15, 1941, in Swayzee.
She was a lifetime resident of Pierceton. Matilda enjoyed being a homemaker and an avid gardener.
Matilda is survived by one son, Tommy J. (Elaine) Long, of Warsaw; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Long; one son, Teddy Long; and one daughter, Mary Ann Long.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday, Dec. 9 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, with graveside services in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Dec.9. Billy Smith will officiate the service.
