I having recently moved to Warsaw after 60 years in Indianapolis, where I sang in Men's Chorus at the Scottish Rite Cathedral (when Warsaw native Bob Pfiedera was accompanist) for many years.

It was a great void to move to Warsaw, until - I had guests from Indianapolis June 27. Knowing they, like me, had had tickets to the Indianapolis Symphony, we attended the concert at Rodeheaver Auditorium, Winona Lake, directed by David Gier. Were we in for a pleasant surprise - it was great - July 4th.

I attended the patriotic concert, conducted by Dr. Kavanaugh, such a big crowd, they couldn't all be seated. I was so moved. I barely could stand for "The National Anthem." Needless to say, I was overwhelmed by the orchestra, the singers and Dr. Kavanaugh. I attended the reception following the concert. When I met Dr. Kavanaugh, he is very outgoing and "personality plus." I can see why the orchestra and singers give their all for him.

Wake up, Warsaw. There is great talent in your backyard - Winona Lake.
