Master Gardeners Plan Annual Tour

Posted

MILFORD - Water gardens, a log house and perennials are all a part of this year's "Down the Garden Path" garden tour.

Eight gardens in Kosciusko County are featured in this year's extravaganza, sponsored by Kosciusko County Master Gardener Association and Purdue Extension. The tour is June 24 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine.

One of this year's featured gardens is at the home of Diane Pippenger, Milford. As her home is also her business, Pee Wee Acres Pond Supply, her home features five water gardens in-ground.

"Once you start," said Pippenger of water gardens, "you're addicted."

Other gardens are at the homes of Ron and Judy Marquart, Lee and Sandy Beer, Bob and Sally Cline, John and Joan Pippenger, Denton and Deb Hoke and Glen and Mary Mullett, all of Milford, and Robert and Esther Benedict, Nappanee.

Advance sale tickets are $6 for adults and children. Information and/or tickets are available at the Purdue University Extension Office, 574-372-2340; Ace Hardware, 1701 E. Center St., Warsaw; Ind. 13, North Webster; 11873 N. Ind. 13, Syracuse; Open Air Garden Center and Greenhouses, 965 N. Lake St., Warsaw; Anderson Greenhouses, 1812 N. The goals of the Master Gardeners are to increase members' knowledge of sound gardening practices, provide information to the community on current and timely gardening methods and assist Kosciusko County Master Gardeners in fulfilling their volunteer hours and further education requirements.
