Mary Opal Shock

SYRACUSE – Mary Opal Shock, 95, of Syracuse, passed away Oct. 28, 2012, in I.U. Goshen Hospital.

She was born Sept. 16, 1917, in Utley, Ohio, to George and Sarah Carpenter Clark. She married Cecil Shock,  who died in March 1968.

Moving to Syracuse from Ohio more than 27 years ago, she was a homemaker and a long-time member of  Wawasee Baptist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Peggy Mount, Findlay, Ohio, and Sharon Butler and Jamie Erb, both of Syracuse; two sons, Robert Shock, Parkersburg, W.Va.,   and Jack Shock I, Ava, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two brothers.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at McVey-Perkins Funeral Home, Caldwell, Ohio. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Parkersburg, W.Va.

Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at McVey-Perkins Funeral Home.
