SYRACUSE – Mary N. Reed, 96, of Syracuse, died at 8:45 p.m. Oct. 8, 2011, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse.
She was born Jan. 31, 1915, in South Bend, to Leon and Cecil Borror Casper. On Nov. 15, 1937, in South Bend, she married Jim Reed, who died Aug. 15. 1980.
She graduated in 1933 from Riley High School, South Bend. She was a homemaker and moved to the Syracuse area from South Bend in 1968. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Syracuse, where she was involved in the Martha’s Circle. She and her husband formerly played in a square dance band.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Musselman, Milford; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, two infant grandchildren, two sisters and a brother.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, with Pastor David Herr officiating.
Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse.
