GOSHEN – Mary  Marguerite Richey, 93, of Goshen, died at 3:40 p.m. Dec. 5, 2011, in Greencroft Healthcare.

She was born Nov. 25, 1918, in Clay Township, Miami County, to  John S. and Rosa Mae Grau Durr.  On June 21, 1942, in Kokomo, she married the Rev. J. Ross Richey, who died Sept. 14,  1991.

She graduated from Howard Twp. School in 1936, Kokomo Junior College in 1938 and  Manchester College in 1940 with a bachelor’s degree in  education. She taught school for more than 20 years and retired from Elkhart Community Schools in 1978. She was  a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Elkhart; Indiana Teachers Association; American Council of the Blind; Elkhart County Retired  Teachers Association; P.E.O.; and volunteered at Greencroft Community Center, Goshen.

Surviving are a daughter, Marcia Ann (and spouse Charlie) Russell, Indianapolis; a son, Ronald W. (and spouse Julia) Richey, North Webster; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and a sister, Norma Jean (and spouse Charles) Spangler, Kokomo. She also was preceded in death by  two brothers, Wilford  and Johnny Durr.  

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at The Meetinghouse at Greencroft. A graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Kokomo Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
