NAPPANEE - Mary Lou Truex, 79, of 890 U.S. 6, Nappanee, died unexpectedly of natural causes at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 24, 2008, in her residence.
She was born Aug. 19, 1929, in South Bend, to Ruben and Mary Rink Schmucker. On Nov. 9, 1947, she married Roy Truex Jr., who died July 3, 1986.
A lifetime resident of the "Beach Road" area, she was owner of Schmucker's LP Gas, which was started by her parents. They have been in business for more than 62 years, serving the great Nappanee area. "Business was her life."
Surviving are a niece, Kelly Enkoff, Indianapolis; four cousins: Pat (and spouse Rolland) Heckaman, Nappanee; Nancy Hickey, South Bend; and Cheryl (and spouse Wayne) Cline and Denny (and spouse Brenda) Heckaman, all of Goshen; business associates and close friends, Keith and Ronda Klotz, Nappanee; and caretaker, Ursula (and spouse Mike) Luttman, Nappanee.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery.
