Mary Lou Augusta Moe, 86, passed away into eternal life Jan. 27, 2014. She was born Feb. 9, 1927, to Elmer and Elsie Kruger. In 1945, she married Robert E. Wood. She later married Dr. John H. Moe, who preceded her in death. She grew up on a farm in Potsdam, Minn. Always a hard worker, her parents allowed her to work for a family in town while she attended Rochester Senior High School, graduating in 1944 as class salutatorian. She then attended Rochester Junior College, graduating summa cum laude as a medical secretary. Her work as a medical secretary allowed her husband Robert to attend art school. Together they had four children. John was widely regarded as the founder of modern scoliosis research and treatment. He helped create one of the first dedicated in-patient hospital spine units in the world. She worked beside John at Twin Cities Scoliosis Center (now Twin City Spine Center). Together, they traveled the world, experiencing a life most others only dream about. In later years and prior to her retirement in Bloomington, Minn., she worked as a bookkeeper for her son and grandson. She will be dearly missed. Surviving are four children: Richard (and spouse Carmen) Wood, Claudia (and spouse Reinhold) Fussle, Kathleen (and spouse Rod) Dean and Nancy (and spouse David) Wilson; 19 grandchildren: Kris, Shannon, Tylor, Holli, Jason Wood; Darlene, David, Jonathan, Stephen, Michael, Angelika, Daniel, Elisabeth Fussle; James Dean; Erika, Richard, Stephanie, Christina and Natalie Wilson; 21 great-grandchildren: Rachel, Ryan, Grant, Seth, Abby, Joshua and baby boy Connor (due June 2014) Wood; Daverick, Savannah and baby girl (due June 2014), Ka'iulani, Elele, Ethan, Dillon, Isaac, Eve, Eli, Alanna, Addison Fussle; Carter and Quinn Wilson.
