Mary Lois Swain, 91, of Warsaw, passed away at 3 a.m. June 11, 2013, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born July 24, 1921, in Fort Wayne, to Jacob Milton and Blanche Winebrenner Roush. On Dec. 28, 1941, in Pierceton, she married Joseph Charles Swain, who died Jan. 16, 1996. She retired from L.M. Berry and Co., Warsaw. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Monday Evening Circle of Warsaw, and the Order of the Eastern Star 56, Pierceton, where she was a past matron. Surviving are two daughters, Joan Beth Maze, Indianapolis, and Christine (and spouse Ron) Jonas, Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren: Jody (and spouse Jenn) Maze; Jeffrey (and spouse Jenny) Maze; Jaime Becker; Douglas (and spouse Michelle) Becker; Shelly (and spouse Brad) Rumbaugh; Matt Jonas; and Stephany Chivers; a niece, Rose Ann Clair; two nephews, Mike Makemson and Allan Haven; and several great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Joseph Douglas Becker and Gavin Joseph Maze; a sister; a brother-in-law; and two half brothers. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Scott Carmer officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Greenlawn Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
