SYRACUSE - Mary Jane Bowton, 94, of Miller's Merry Manor, Syracuse, died Aug. 18, 2007.
She married Kenneth L. Bowton, who preceded her in death.
She moved to East Shore Drive, Syracuse, in 1975, after retiring from owning and operating the Dale Carnegie Course of Northern Indiana. Active in the Calvary United Methodist Church, she was a member of the church's finance committee, Martha's Circle and volunteered with the KiJam, an after-school program for children kindergarten through fifth grade. She assisted with the "For Fun Group," was a member of Round Table, delivered Meals on Wheels and drove cancer patients to appointments.
Surviving are four children: Marjory Urschel, Lafayette; Linda Delaney, Silver Spring, Md.; Maurine Mitchell, San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; and Greg Bowton, Fort Wayne; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 29, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Syracuse, with Pastor David Herr and David Marty officiating.
Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
