Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Wardle, 90, of 1634 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw, passed away with her family by her side at 5:43 p.m. Oct. 25, 2010, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.

She was born Aug. 27, 1920, in Salem, Ohio, to Robert Joel and Hattie Snyder Armstrong. On Aug. 13, 1949, she married Robert Emerson Wardle, who died Nov. 30, 1988.

She graduated from Spencerian Business College and worked at Wyandotte Chemicals Corp., Cleveland, Ohio, for 11 years. She was a member of First Congregational Church, Mansfield, Ohio, where she was active in the church Women's Fellowship. She enjoyed crafts, needlework, quilting and crocheting rag rugs.

Surviving are a daughter, Joanne (and spouse Russell) Simpson, Warsaw; a son, Douglas (and spouse Debbie) Wardle, Columbus, Ohio; three granddaughters, Kari (and spouse Marc) Davis, Mansfield, and Meredith (and spouse David) Robertson and Erin (and spouse Landon) Reifsnider, all of Winona Lake; two great-granddaughters, Anna and Kathryn Robertson, both of Winona Lake; a sister, Margaret McLaren, Cleveland, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Galion (Ohio) Grace Brethren Church with Dr. Russell E. Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.

Calling is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, and one hour prior to the service Friday at Galion Grace Brethren Church.
